As many of you have transitioned into remote learning environments, we’ve created a series of blog posts that will highlight the features of EdMod and how the tool can support your efforts during this time.
Today we’ll focus on Adding and Implementing At-Home Strategies to take advantage of EdMod’s recent toolkits and apply to your current workflow.
- Add At-Home Strategies to Students’ Saved Strategies
Teachers can make use of EdMod’s Distance Learning Resources and reference the strategies outlined in the toolkits including, “Low-Tech DIY Strategies for Students with Learning Challenges,” and “Activities for Home Learning.”
Users can then navigate to Explore Strategies within EdMod, where they can search for those strategies listed in the toolkits by name (e.g. “Elastic Chair Band”) and save them to the appropriate students. Once saved, those strategies will be reflected in a student’s Saved Strategies and can be viewed by those with access to that student.
- Use the Notes Section to Indicate the Effectiveness of a Strategy in a Distance Learning Setting
Beyond viewing the strategies saved to a particular student, Teachers can also take advantage of the rating system and notes feature by detailing a strategy’s success/failure in a changed learning environment, or clarifying a particular use case. Users might also create a log to show the ongoing implementation of a strategy.
