Session Overview:

Educators will explore various approaches to student-led Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and be able to identify the key indicators of high-quality student-led IEP meetings. They will also learn strategies to empower students, enabling them to participate actively, showcase their strengths, and effectively communicate their weaknesses. This will ultimately lead to improved collaboration and self-advocacy within their IEP teams.

What Attendees Will Learn:

- Learn what you need to know and do to introduce the student-led IEP process to students’ families and other stakeholders.
- How to help students learn about themselves and their IEPs to benefit from the student-led IEP process.
- To evaluate the quality of student-led meetings from the perspective of their stakeholders.
